Bridging the Digital Divide

Navigating the information economy in a new world of work

Digital Divide

We live and work in a fast moving world flooded with information – it’s not only faster but also more complex and more interconnected than ever before. The biggest revolution we face in the next decade is a shift in how we deal with information, and most companies are battling to keep up. Yet, today’s young people treat all of this as normal, and use multiple technologies to help them easily navigate this information-rich economy. Your success in the next few years depends on your understanding and ability to bridge the digital divides.

This session will show you how information technology will revolutionise your business, and your life. Use it to connect more effectively with your younger, talented staff and customers. And ensure that you and your team are ready to make the most of the new world of work.

This workshop includes well researched insights into the near future of technology and communication, packaged together with key trends, relevant and interesting facts, case studies and multi-media clips. It invites strategic insights, understanding and discussion, and is laced with a practicality and a gently rebuking humour that makes it immediately applicable and keeps participants thoroughly engaged throughout.

Formats

This session can be delivered as a keynote presentation or strategic input, lasting between 60 and 90 minutes. We use full multimedia, laced with humour and relevant case studies. The keynote is adapted for each audience, and can be made industry-specific or function-specific in its application and focus.

The session can be delivered as a workshop, either half day or full day.

The session can be used in conjunction with our work on strategy (see “Beyond Strategy”), as part of a facilitated strategy development session. This would typically last one and a half days, and be overnight at an offsite venue. We use both appreciative enquiry and a ParticiPlan process to assist strategy development for companies or departments within companies.

Take Home Value

By the end of the session, participants will:

  • Understand the key drivers of change and advances in digital technologies, and be able to more accurately anticipate the developments likely to emerge over the next 3 to 5 years
  • Identify the seven key characteristics of the current digital world
  • Engage with the implications for their organisation and function
  • Be inspired to bridge the digital divide

Recent clients have said the following about this specific programme:

“I have now seen Graeme Codrington present quite a few times, but I never tire of it even if I have just seen him the day before. Our guests on both our recent NEC conferences in South Africa were as mesmerized as I was. His presentations are right on the money and are also brought with such great examples and use of humor that it remains a joy to watch. His vision of current and future trends is so fascinating that it influences whole groups of people to embrace new technologies, which is to me is the highest praise possible.” Karien Ciggaar, Sales Director Southern Africa, NEC Unified Solutions
