Understand the realities of the new world of work and what it will take to be successful

Brave New WorldIn September 2008 the world changed almost overnight. Although many people are hoping that we will go back to “normal” after the recession, the reality is different. There is now a new normal and a new set of rules for success is emerging. This presentation or workshop shows leaders how an eighty year repeating economic and social cycle, dating back as far as the War of the Roses (circa 1450), can shed light on what challenges companies can expect as they prepare for the upturn and beyond. The session reveals eight realities about the new world of work and shows how tools such as appreciative enquiry and emergent strategies can help companies today.

Discover what is required to prepare for the upturn, build corporate muscle in a new world that requires bold new leaders and corporate courage to succeed.

Formats

This session can be delivered as a keynote presentation or strategic input, lasting between 60 and 90 minutes. We use full multimedia, laced with humour and relevant case studies. The keynote is adapted for each audience, and can be made industry-specific or function-specific in its application and focus.

The session can be delivered as a workshop, either half day or full day.

The session can be used in conjunction with our work on strategy (see “Beyond Strategy”), as part of a facilitated strategy development session. This would typically last one and a half days, and be overnight at an offsite venue. We use both appreciative enquiry and a ParticiPlan process to assist strategy development for companies or departments within companies.

Take Home Value

By the end of the session, participants will:

  • Understand the nature of the business cycle and know why the recession we are in was both predictable and necessary
  • Feel confident about the future, and excited to be involved in rebuilding their company and industry
  • Have specific tools for success in the new world of work that is emerging as we begin the economic upturn
